The Role: 

Do you thrive in complex and innovative software development? 

If so, we have an awesome opportunity for an engineer with a focus on system management firmware development, system level control and ASIC debug. You will be responsible for the full complement of AMD's APU and CPU designs, developing features and driving continuous improvement in all areas. 

The Person: 

We are looking for an individual that loves embedded software, inspired by AI/ML and excited to contribute to FW of AI/ML. You will thrive in cross team collaboration and debugging low level FW and silicon related issues 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • The successful candidate will assume end to end responsibility for post-silicon activities related to FW in modern CPU/APU products. 
  • You will work with other teams to implement end to end AI/ML features and keep optimal performance. 
  • Participate in debugging and solving system-level issues that may occur in either test environments or real SOC products. 
  • Participate in cross team efforts to evaluate and optimize IPU’s performance and power consumption. 
  • Proactively drive improvements in quality. Review team’s code and deliverables. 
  • Take on new and challenging projects in areas new to industry or new to AMD. 

Required Experience: 

  • Prior hands-on programming in C / C++ and Python / Other scripting languages. 
  • Prior experience with debugging embedded software / firmware, must have experience debugging hardware related issues. 
  • Prior experience driving positive changes in software development group, improving test and quality practices. 
  • Prior experience in hands-on develop and debugging firmware for ARM, Tensilica, RISC-V.  
  • Experienced with MMU, DMA, and its applications. 
  • Good Knowledge and experience on RTOS. 
  • Good understanding of computing support behind AI/ML. 
  • Demonstrate exceptional strong analysis and problem-solving skills. 
  • Tools: Git, Linux, etc.
