Job Description:

Research, design, develop, and/or test electronic components and systems for semiconductor and related device manufacturing, employing knowledge of electronic theory; design a complete and complex framework, system or product; optimize power use for semi-custom APU products; develop test plans and execute power testing on electronic systems; debug and solve system level issues; perform post-silicon activities related to hitting power targets; define processes for technical platforms, system specifications, input/output and working parameters for hardware and/or software compatibility; conceive system interfaces and business application prototypes; identify, analyze and resolve system design weaknesses; influence the shaping of future products by contributing to the framework (architecture) used across multiple products or systems; work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors; under supervision, exercise limited judgment within defined company procedures and practices to select methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results; utilize knowledge of computers and electronics, including circuit boards, processors, chips, and electronic equipment, as well as knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles; apply knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of various AMD products.

Degree required: 

Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in computer science, electrical engineering, computer engineering, mechanical engineering, or electronics engineering.

Amount and type of experience required:

12 months of experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role.

Skills required:

Position requires one (1) year of experience in:  hardware verification, SOC/system architecture, functional verification of microprocessors, product development cycles, front-end EDA tools, Perl, and Bash scripting.
