THE ROLE: 

We are looking for an adaptive, self-motivated systems Engineer to join our growing team. As a key contributor, you will have a strong technical background to contribute to all aspects of the Windows system Engineering & Monitoring/Observability management process. 

In this role, you will have full ownership of requirements delivery and drive projects to completion. 

 

THE PERSON: 

You're a highly motivated team player with a strong development background, problem solving mentality, excellent communication skills, ability to prioritize tasks along with willingness to learn and adapt. Excellent teamwork skills and capable of working independently.  

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Develop and support enterprise infrastructure at expert level and drive timely resolution  
  • Facilitate stand-up meetings, reviews, estimation, sprint, release planning, demos, burndown tracking, and other Scrum related meetings  
  • Interface between AMD and external partners to ensure SLA across partners are met  
  • Independent and joint collaboration between multi-functional teams for development, testing, debugging and implement requirements for enterprise application 
  • Excellent teamwork skills and capable of working independently  
  • Particularly good communicator, able to engage and effectively respond to diverse partners  
  • Able to proactively support team culture that fosters knowledge sharing, excellence, and collaboration  

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

 

    • 3+ years’ experience as a  Windows System Engineer supporting highly available compute workloads
    • Strong knowledge and experience in virtualization hypervisor ESXi/KVM
    • Strong Knowledge and experience with Windows Servers Support
    • Strong knowledge and experience on virtualization platforms using VMware or open source hypervisors/Vmware (KVM, Xen, Ovirt, Openstack) supporting several thousand VMs.
    • Good Experience/Knowledge of any Monitoring tool Nagios/Prometheus/Icinga/Solarwinds etc.
    • Good experience coding and automation skills in Powershell & Python .
    • Good experience with opensource orchestration
    • Experience in configuration management/automation frameworks such as SCCM/Ansible.
    • Good Experience with automation with Microsoft tools and PowerShell Scripting
    • Experience with traditional and modern IT processes, tools and solutions (change management is key)
    • Strong scientific method and technical know-how to troubleshoot errors to resolution in the most efficient manner possible
    • Superior written and oral communications
    • Strong documentation and presentation skills
    • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a global support team with minimal supervision. Experience of working with cross-geographic teams

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field strongly preferred
