TECHNICAL PROJECT MANAGER

  

THE ROLE:

  • The individual who fills this role will be responsible for driving operations for the Graphics R&D group from planning, budgeting to full deployment. 

 

THE PERSON: 

  • This individual will oversee multiple projects within the research and development group.  

  • Seeking candidates who are results-driven, disciplined, analytical, with good problem-solving.  

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Creating a timeline of goals to be met 

  • Developing project plans for staff and self 

  • Delegating project tasks to teams best suited to complete them 

  • Tracking project performance and analyzing deliverables against requirements 

  • Ensuring that all budgetary objectives are met, making adjustments as needed 

  • Overseeing junior staff and teams to ensure that work continues on budget and schedule 

  • Work with business and software teams on tracking and reporting while ensuring that teams have clear input and output metrics mapped to projects that ladder up to broader strategic initiatives. 

  • Communication is critical part of this role which includes: 

  • Interpreting/understanding business directions 

  • Driving the team to define and explain tactical details 

  • Recommending solutions to resolve complex program issues 

  • Defining, planning, and driving project and program plans based on the needs of the business, input from management and senior technical guidance. 

  

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

  • Experience is required in managing complex, interrelated software development projects, programs, and/or functions across a distributed organization. 

  • Experience in R&D, software development, plus working knowledge across multiple engineering disciplines is required. 

  • Experience working with product and technology leaders to drive operational excellence within these teams including driving process improvements to drive specific goals. 

  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, and other project management tools. An expertise in these will be highly valuable. 

  • Strong understanding of technology and product with prior expertise driving both teams to deliver ambitious roadmap plans by being the steward of the process. 

  • Possesses a thorough knowledge of the principles or project management and the ability to apply them effectively on small to large size projects. 

  

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

  • BS in EE and Masters in any engineering disciplines is an advantage 

  • Formal Project Management education, PMP designation is an advantage.
