Under the responsibility of the Lead Props Artist of the project, you will participate in making an immersive world come alive by creating and applying textures that give depth and dimension to everything within it.

What you’ll do

  • Be responsible for applying the artistic direction of the project in the creation of its textures
  • Create materials and textures from references, scans, and from scratch, build and maintain a texture library;
  • Collaborate proactively with the Level Artists and Level Designers team in order to adapt the textures to their needs and constraints. 
  • Work with modelers to suggest textures
  • Manage Texture and Shader efficiency;
  • Find balance between artistic aspects and technical constraints;
  • Proactively help to troubleshoot problematic content;
  • Check the quality of the textures once imported into the game, in order to make improvements to the needs
  • Document and share your knowledge and best practices;

You have industry experience in texture creation (or relevant experience) within a game production.

3D modeling packages such as 3ds Max, Maya or others have no secrets for you. You also have advanced knowledge of Substance Designer and Painter, Adobe Photoshop, and Zbrush.

You have a solid understanding of art fundamentals (lighting, composition, proportion, colour theory, etc.), physically based rendering (PBR), and game constraints;

You can work proactively and autonomously, and your creativity & attention to detail allow you to suggest ideas.

Your communication skills allow you to work collaboratively with success. You know how to work in a team, share your ideas clearly and receive artistic feedback that you will integrate in order to adapt to needs.
