Under the responsibility of the Lead Props Artist of the project, you will participate in making an immersive world come alive by creating and applying textures that give depth and dimension to everything within it.

What you’ll do

  • Create high-quality, realistic textures and materials for diverse environments within the game, ensuring they align with the project's artistic vision.
  • Build and maintain a library of generic materials, including tileable textures, decals, trim sheets, and atlases.
  • Work closely with the Level Art and Props Art teams to create textures that align with their specific requirements.
  • Work with the Art Director and Concept Art team to maintain consistency in texture style and quality across the project.
  • Collaborate with Technical Art team to ensure textures are implemented effectively and meet technical requirements.
  • Optimize textures for performance while preserving visual fidelity, ensuring they function efficiently within the game engine
  • Troubleshoot and resolve texture-related issues within the game engine, ensuring a smooth and visually compelling experience for players.
  • Share your knowledge and best practices with the team, providing mentorship and creating documentation to support your work and processes.

You have proven industry experience as a Texture Artist in the video game industry on high-quality textures and materials for environments.

Strong expertise in creating procedural materials using Substance Designer or similar tools, with a deep understanding of PBR (Physically Based Rendering) workflows.

Proficiency in other industry-standard software such as Adobe Photoshop, Substance Painter, Zbrush and experience with 3D software like Maya, 3ds Max, or Blender.

Strong understanding of color theory, lighting, and their impact on texture creation within a 3D environment, along with a solid understanding in shaders.

Excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude, with the ability to effectively understand project needs and collaborate seamlessly with various teams.

Attention to detail and a passion for creating visually stunning game environments.
