Red Storm Entertainment is looking for an experienced UI Technical Artist to join our team as the link between art and code! You'll work with industry-leading tools, like our proprietary game engine, and collaborate with a team of UI/UX Designers, Artists, Designers, and Programmers, to create advanced UI content for our games.

We welcome people working in our Cary studio or remotely within the continental US.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Create UI for in-game screens, features, and content utilizing our node-based scripting language.
  • Quickly conceptualize, prototype, and communicate functionality and design intentions.
  • Create compelling visual treatments that are easy to understand, simple to navigate, and convey information for an ideal end-user experience.
  • Execute UI design in engine with a keen eye for detail, keeping in mind the overall art treatment and screen-to-screen UI placement, as well as data structures.
  • Maintain consistency throughout the entire project interface.
  • Adapt to varying art styles, direction, and coding structures.
  • Identify priorities and gaps in current designs, and contribute/iterate on creative solutions.
  • Collaborate with all disciplines necessary to deliver features on time, in line with the art. direction, and with the players best interest in mind.
  • Ensuring our UI is optimal with continual iteration and development.
  • 2+ years creating UI technical art assets for games or equivalent.
  • Experience with node-based scripting languages or coding languages (C#, Python, Java, etc.).
  • You enjoy creating content (or realizing content based on concepts) and are not afraid of taking initiative.
  • An eye for quality and are always seeking to improve.
  • Ability to solve problems and are able to think both technically and artistically, considering accessibility and optimization in your work.
  • Comfortable working within a multidisciplinary team and you are team-oriented.
  • A positive attitude with the ability to give and receive constructive feedback.
  • Ability to find and debug issues within content.

It is a bonus if you have:

  • Proven experience developing UI in a AAA production.
  • Understanding of various design tools (e.g. Figma, Adobe Suite & 3D software).
  • Knowledge in Shading in nodes (HLSL/GLSL).
  • Portfolio that displays quality of work.
