Validation Systems Design Engineer
THE ROLE:
In the rapidly expanding world of AI and HPC, solid system level integration and validation especially in the areas of CXL/PCIe/HBM becomes paramount. Our DCGPU solutions, including APUs and GPUs, demand rigorous testing for optimum performance and reliability.
We are seeking a Senior Systems Design Engineer who thrives in an environment that requires creative debugging skills and has a passion for advancing end to end validation test content especially in the areas of CXL/PCIe/HBM. The Systems Design Engineering team fosters and encourages continuous technical innovation to showcase successes as well as facilitate continuous career development.
THE PERSON:
As a key contributor to the success of AMD’s product, you will be part of a leading team to drive and improve AMD’s abilities to deliver the highest quality, industry-leading technologies to market. Your systems design engineering expertise will be necessary towards product development, validation, and root cause resolution.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide technical innovation to improve AMD’s capabilities across validation, including tool and script development, technical and procedural methodology enhancement, and various internal and cross-functional technical initiatives.
- Debug and triage issues found during the silicon validation and production phases of our AI and HPC systems.
- Work with multiple teams to develop and execute robust validation test plans at the functional, stress and volume levels that meet our customer workloads and requirements.
- Collaborate with multiple teams, including firmware, software, design and platform to debug, root cause and fix issues.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Programming/scripting skills (e.g. C/C++, Perl, Ruby, Python)
- Debug techniques and methodologies
- Solid experience with common lab equipment, including protocol/logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, etc.
- Solid experience with board/platform-level debug, including delivery, sequencing, analysis, and optimization
- Solid knowledge of system architecture, technical debug, and validation strategy
- Strong analytical/problem-solving skills and pronounced attention to details
- Must be a self-starter, and able to independently drive tasks to completion
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
Bachelors or Masters degree in electrical or computer engineering
