On being a Video Lead (Creative Services) at Ubisoft Toronto

Working directly with our Communications and Creative Services teams, the successful candidate is a strong leader, visual communicator, and excellent storyteller. You want to be part of a creative, dynamic, and innovative environment, and help develop talent at Ubisoft Toronto. You will have the creative prowess to construct fresh ideas, pitch them to various partners, and then oversee or execute through every step of the production to the highest level of quality. You will contribute your expertise on-set to guide and direct production staff, lead multi-camera setups as well as optimize audio and lighting configurations, work with junior team members to further refine their video skills, and partner with our designers to bring static assets to life through motion graphics.


As a collaborator with both studio and game development teams, your expertise will manifest in a variety of ways between ideating, shooting, editing, post-production work, and mentoring. Your work will be seen through video for a variety of platforms, including the studio’s website, social media and livestream channels, the Ubisoft intranet, and more.

The daily life of a Video Lead (Creative Services) at Ubisoft Toronto

  • Work with the Communications and Creative Services team to ideate on compelling storytelling opportunities that speak to studio and brand objectives.
  • Pitch concepts and campaigns to studio clients for internal or external productions.
  • Work with the Creative Services and partner team(s) to craft an actionable vision and style guide for all video projects.
  • Drive full-stack production on highest priority video projects.
  • Work with editors and designers to outline all the requirements to satisfy project objectives.
  • Lead and execute video shoots with a keen eye for composition, as needed.
  • Demonstrate a creative approach to storytelling through a shoot, edit, or animation.
  • Liaise with various subject-matter experts to distill complex topics into compelling content opportunities.
  • Be a partner to our communications, studio, production, and project teams in the successful development and execution of quality content.
  • Contribute creative solutions to partners’ projects and/or implement suggestions from others.
  • Ensure Ubisoft and/or brand-specific style guide requirements are met for all videos
  • Act on feedback from various and multiple stakeholders as needed.
  • Organize and archive footage across multiple sources for future projects.
  • Mentor and help develop incoming talent with an eye on video production.
  • Learn on the job while staying on top of the latest trends and techniques for video production.
  • Perform other related tasks as required.

What it takes to make it

  • 7+ years of professional videography and editing experience.
  • Demonstrated shooting, editing, and post-production expertise via portfolio.
  • Expert knowledge of Adobe Premiere and After Effects.
  • The ability to independently setup a multi-camera shoot with optimal lighting and audio in a variety of settings.
  • Expert with DSLR camera workflows.
  • Open to direction, accepts feedback, and acts on it.
  • Able to work independently in both office and work from home environments.
  • Demonstrate creativity, originality, and resourcefulness when searching for solutions.
  • Brings a positive attitude and desire to work collaboratively with colleagues.
  • Highly organized with excellent time management skills to meet multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
