Rockstar North is on the lookout for a talented Workplace Manager. You will have overall responsibility and management of the Workplace Team.
The successful candidate will provide the management of day-to-day operations of the building, and its facilities services. This role is crucial in driving productivity, aligning team efforts and company objectives, promoting a culture of collaboration and accountability.
This is a full-time, permanent and in-office position based in Rockstar’s state-of-the-art game development studio in Edinburgh, Scotland.
WHAT WE DO
- The Rockstar Workplace Team is responsible for ensuring the working environment, building, facilities, and services work harmoniously together to support the core business.
- We create and maintain a supportive, and safe working environment for all the staff at Rockstar Games.
- We manage and develop both hard and soft facilities services, including building maintenance, security, cleaning, catering, space utilisation and strategy.
- We ensure the site complies with all relevant guidance and legislation.
- We partner with senior leadership to drive proactive real estate growth strategies, leasehold improvements, and capital expenditure projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Overall responsibility for the building and facilities services at Rockstar North. Proactively ensuring a safe, comfortable, and supportive environment is provided for staff and visitors.
- Manage the local Workplace team, ensuring they carry out their roles and responsibilities professionally and to the required standard. Coach and develop the team fostering a positive work environment.
- Contract management for facilities services, including procurement, budget management, contract negotiation, day-to-day operational oversite, and performance management.
- Manage Workplace projects and small works, taking them from their identification and feasibility through to completion, ensuring program dates and milestones are met and communications to key stakeholders upheld.
- Working with local H&S management to ensure full building compliance in line with legal and statutory requirements.
- Ensure the effective documentation and development of building and facilities information, particularly operational processes and documents required for safety and compliance.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues in Security and Business Protection to ensure that risks, security measures and issues are being recorded, monitored and reported.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues in Technical Services to ensure compliance, PPM and standards are met and maintained.
- By working in collaboration with stakeholders, oversee the management of space and desk utilisation ensuring it is used efficient and effectively and in line with studio requirements.
- Assist Workplace Strategy Team in related global projects and initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Educated to degree level or with equivalent vocational education and experience.
- 5+ years’ experience working within a Facilities or Workplace operational role, ideally supporting complex buildings, high growth premises with a high population of technical disciplines.
- 3+ years' experience successfully managing a multi discipline Workplace team displaying effective communication, leadership, coaching, and conflict resolution skills.
- Experience in overseeing service contracts including their procurement, performance, and management.
- Excellent understanding of current safety legislation and best practice.
SKILLS
- A detail oriented, flexible self-starter with strong initiative, excellent organisational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent planning and project management skills with the ability to consider tasks and projects from multiple angles.
- Process driven, but outcome focused, always looking for quality improvements and ensuring they are accurately documented.
- Capable of working autonomously, managing and prioritising their own workload and understanding where to seek guidance and approval.
- Able to drive Workplace initiatives, plans and projects forward and maintain excellent working relationship with stakeholders and local management.
- Experience with overlapping business support fields, e.g. IT, Administration, Operations.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal).
- Creative problem-solving skills.
- Ability to coach and develop direct reports to work as a team to ensure service meets expectations.
- Enthusiasm and the ability to create a sense of fun and motivate a team whilst upholding standards and maintaining discipline.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word and Excel).
- Sound numerical skills and IT skills.
PLUSES
Please note that these are desirable skills and are not required to apply for the position.
- An IWFM or IFMA qualification.
- NEBOSH Safety Qualification or equivalent.
- Previous experience within the Creative Industries – video games, film, television, music – would be beneficial but not critical. We are welcoming applications from all industries across corporate office, retail, and tech.
- Experience with work order ticketing systems, space management tools and construction project management platforms.
- Experience with AutoCAD.
