Your main and expected responsabilities for this role are: 

  • Collaborate with the Creative Director to define the artistic vision.
  • Contribute to the art pipeline definition. 
  • Share, cultivate and promote the artistic vision throughout the team. 
  • Inspire artists to create assets that will fulfill the art & creative vision of the project.  
  • Ensure the reach of expected artistic quality by guide, coach, review, and critique art deliverables. 
  • Collaborate with the Creative Director, Producer, and other Directors to review progress of the game and adjust the implementation of features to match the vision and scope as needed.   
  • Collaborate with the Project Management to assist in art team staffing and verifying production schedules. 
  • Create a variety of features, assets, game concepts, and other materials to support production as needed. 
  • Maintain a high level of asset management practices and standards to better facilitate both internal and external sharing with other Ubisoft studios.  

What you bring to the team:

  • Game development experience as Art Director on a shipped AAA.
  • Understanding of VFX, lighting, world
  • Proven ability to work in highly collaborative, interdisciplinary, iterative environment, while delivering under deadlines and time constraints
  • Must be able to effectively communicate and interact with team members of different disciplines. 
  • Ability to anticipate, prioritize, and organize work to meet objectives. 
  • A keen understanding of technical constraints and ability to adhere to them to achieve artistic vision. 
  • Willingness to accept and adapt to feedback. 
  • Must have working knowledge of industry required art software and Microsoft Office applications. 
  • Strong ability to integrate, communicate and orient a vision (written and oral) in both French and English
  • In-depth understanding of general game design processes
  • Listen to players and market trends
  • Structured, sensitive to the coherence of the content produced and source of proposals 
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Perfectly comfortable in English, you know how to adapt to a multicultural environment
