The EA Create Capture Acquisition team provides high-quality body and facial motion performances and character scanning for in-game, cinematic and narrative sequences.
Role overview:
Our Los Angeles-based Assistant Acquisition Specialist supports the motion capture and character scanning needs for all of EA’s game development teams worldwide. Reporting to the Studio Manager, the Assistant Acquisition Specialist is a member of the Acquisition team - the crew that prepares and executes motion capture and character scanning recording sessions.
You have experience and technical or practical skills within a live production environment. You will be guided by senior team members to support the pipeline from pre-production to delivery, and will ensure you perform your tasks with excellence to help achieve project goals.
This is a 12-month contract, based onsite at the Chatsworth studio.

Responsibilities:

Assist the scan acquisition team with acquiring 3d character asset data during scanning sessions.

Support scanning system operation, directed and managed by relevant subject matter experts.

Aid with scanning camera equipment setup, care, and operation.

Build and strike camera and lighting rigs under guidance.

Participate in motion capture recording sessions including daily production prep and capture system set up.

Learn proprietary art pipelines, new technology, and processes.

Facilitate stage install, strike, stage resets and general studio/stage maintenance.

Support the maintenance and troubleshooting of the studio audio and video systems.

Under the guidance of the Senior Acquisition team members, participate in construction/assembly of set pieces and props.

Participate in talent wardrobe fitting and motion capture marker application.

Help document workflow, post-mortems and pipelines.

Contribute to postmortems, provide feedback, documenting workflow when needed and help improve motion capture process and data output.
Qualifications:

Prior professional live-production experience in a related entertainment industry: Film, TV, Video Games, VFX, or Theater.

Comfortable with the pressures of being on-set and working in a live production environment.
You should also have experience in at least one of the following areas:

Optical motion capture systems and workflows.

Video game development.
-
3D animation software, such as Motion Builder.

Video and/or audio file formats and compression techniques.

Carpentry or set construction.
-
Film/theater/concert stagecraft and rigging.
US COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.
HOURLY PAY RANGES
• California (depending on location e.g. Los Angeles vs. Sacramento):
º $26 - $36 USD Hourly
The hourly rate is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including paid time off (3 weeks per year to start), 80 hours per year of sick time, 16 paid company holidays per year, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to temporary full-time employees scheduled to work 40 hours a week.
