DIRECTOR OF PRODUCT MANAGEMENT-DATA CENTER GPU

 

THE ROLE: 

AMD is searching for a dynamic Director of Product Management to drive the system software requirements for InstinctTM GPUs with focus on enabling the required datacenter management tools as part of our broader Enterprise AI strategy.

 

As member of the Data Center GPU Business Unit, your influence will be broad and long-lasting and be able to drive change in the growing space of ML/AI and HPC. Our goal is to build industry-leading solutions valued and loved by customers and partners who depend on high performance computing platforms to do their work. AMD will depend on you to define, build, and position GPU computing solutions to meet their needs.

 

THE PERSON: 

The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of deploying GPU enabled clusters in data centers at scale. She/he will have hands-on experience in developing, deploying and managing a data center management platform and the related tools. This person will drive the feature roadmap of our data center management tools, partner closely with AMD architects and developers to define the tool chain, related APIs and libraries applicable to a broad set of customers’ needs with best-in-class usability. Additionally, this person will gather customer requirements and triangulate insights into executive presentations to align stakeholder vision.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Develop an actionable long-term strategy for AMD Instinct GPUs
  • Lead requirements analysis by deeply understanding partner and customer needs for deployment, management and monitoring large GPU enabled clusters at scale
  • Work closely with AMD engineering teams to leverage internal technical insights around AMD GPU optimization and translate these requirements into product capabilities and roadmaps.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

  • Hands-on experience in deploying, developing and managing of a data center management platform and the related tools.
  • Must show successful product execution and launch in prior experiences.
  • Working knowledge of data center GPUs and GPU-accelerated applications in AI markets and HPC is desired.
  • Working knowledge of data center networking technologies is desired.
  • Exceptional communicator with the ability to make complex concepts simple. You will be presenting marketing content to AMD executive leadership team and AMD’s customers.
  • Launching and monitoring large scale distributed jobs (batch processing, stream processing, graph analytics)
  • Background in Infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation) to programmatically manage cluster environments.  
  • Willingness to roll up your sleeves and do whatever is necessary to accomplish the goals.
  • Ability to see ahead comprehensively and devise a strong plan of action, and ensure execution happens on time, every time.
  • Ability to get things done and produce conclusive, measurable results within time commitments.
  • Collaborative and strong team player.
  • Strong influencing skills

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

  • Computer Science or Computer Engineering degree required.
