THE ROLE: 

This is a lead engineering position responsible for customer technical support for next-generation AMD microprocessors. This individual serves as a critical technical point of contact to the business, design, platform validation and product engineering teams. THE PERSON: 

The ideal candidate will be capable of communicating problems, solutions, and project status up to the executive level. You will provide technical supervision to support partner project to make the design wins. You have the capability assuming the consultative or responsibilities for server/GPU projects or product development initiatives, while dealing with internal and external groups on behalf of the group or project. This role allows the opportunity to influence technical decisions that have a significant impact on customer project seccess.  

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Deep dive customer platform HW/SW/FW and reference design to address customer's issues on demand
  • Provide hands-on, expert-level technical mentorship to customer engineers 
  • Lead technical design sessions; architect and detail technical solutions that are aligned with end-user objectives
  • First line CPU and GPU quality analysis and escalation to backend support team.
  • Provide technical mentorship or recommendations for platform performance improvement (HW and SW)
  • Benchmark analysis and optimizations for targeted customer applications
  • Evaluation and research on competition platforms, applications or technologies.
  • Conduct technical alignment with ODM partners

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

  • Industry quality porocess with failure analysis
  • High Performance Computing (HPL, SPEC, STREAM, OpenMP/MPI)
  • Industry proven experience as a senior level server HW engineer in server industry
  • Hands on experience in the setup and configuration of server systems
  • Experience in application/workload profiling, tuning and performance assessment and UEFI /platform firmware a plus

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

  • Preferred Bachelors or Master’s in computer engineering or computer science or electrical engineering, or comparable disciplines.
