THE ROLE: 

We are looking for an adaptive, self-motivated expert systems engineer to join our growing team. As a key contributor, you will have a strong technical background to contribute to all aspects of the client project development with focus on X86 system level feature enablement, testing and debug. 

In this role, you will be responsible for the full complement of AMD's CPU and APU system designs, developing features and driving continuous improvement in all areas.

 

THE PERSON: 

You're a highly motivated team player with a strong HW development background, problem solving mentality, excellent communication skills, ability to prioritize tasks along with willingness to learn and adapt. Excellent teamwork skills and capable of working independently.  

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • The successful candidate will assume end to end responsibility for post-silicon activities related to power, performance and system feature in CPU/APU products.
  • Participate in debugging and solving system-level issues that may occur in test environments and platforms.
  • Drive system features enablement, validation and debug.
  • Proactively drive improvements on quality.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 5 years of hands-on HW development and debug on X86 or embedded system designs. 
  • Must be a self-starter, and able to independently drive tasks to completion.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and pronounced attention to details.
  • A Leader with a Can-Do attitude.

Preferred Requirements:

  • 5 or more years of HW design and debug experience on X86 or embedded systems
  • Deep understanding of digital processing and power electronics.
  • Good understanding of computer architectures, power/thermal management.
  • Experience with high speed interface like DDR, PCIE.
  • hands-on programming experience in C and Python / Other scripting languages.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science
    or related field strongly preferred
