SMTS SILICON DESIGN ENGINEER

THE ROLE: 

As a member of the Network Technology and Solutions Group within the Data Center Solutions organisation in AMD, you will help bring to life cutting-edge designs for enterprise and cloud networking at scale. As a member of the IP design team, you will work closely with the architecture, integration, Physical Design teams, and product engineers to achieve first-time silicon success for a range of networking devices.

THE PERSON:

A successful candidate will work within our team of skilled and motivated silicon design and verification engineers. The candidate will be highly accurate and detail-oriented, possessing good communication and problem-solving skills. They will be a team player, with experience in collaborating across sites and timezones on fast-moving projects.

KEY RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • Own, develop, test and debug complex RTL blocks as part of high-performance, low-latency networking IP and subsystems.
  • Close timing in challenging designs on advanced ASIC and FPGA nodes and technologies.
  • Support post-silicon bringup through VNC and production.
  • Contribute to process improvements through automation and beyond.

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Verilog/SystemVerilog RTL design
  • Experience with VCS
  • Some C/C++ knowledge would be an advantage.
  • Awareness of UVM for debugging and test creation would be an advantage.
  • Comfortable with the creation and debugging of SystemVerilog Assertions for both checks and coverage.
  • A working knowledge of Python would be an advantage.

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in computer engineering/Electrical Engineering or a related subject.
