THE ROLE:

You will lead AMD’s global Employment Law team where you will oversee and provide counsel and legal advisory services to AMD on employment law, human resources, and labor-related matters. You will also oversee AMD’s immigration team.

 

THE PERSON:

An expert in multinational employment law, you have exceptional analytical, problem-solving and negotiating skills.  You have strong people leadership and communication skills, are collaborative, solutions-oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced, global, matrixed organization.

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee and lead a global team of employment law and immigration professionals (attorneys, paralegals, and immigration specialists)
  • Provide counsel and guidance to executives and senior leaders on human resources practices relating to legislative and statutory requirements
  • Articulate, document and lead employment-law strategies for successful mergers, acquisitions, strategic growth initiatives and divestitures
  • Oversee, collaborate and manage outside counsel and resources
  • Work with team to monitor proposed employment law legislation in all jurisdictions in which the Company operates to provide proactive advice regarding the Company’s obligations.

 

 




PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Demonstrated success as the leader of a global employment law team in a complex, high growth company
  • Progressive experience practicing law at a law firm and as corporate in-house counsel
  • Experience developing and implementing employment strategies and planning related to mergers, acquisitions and divestitures
  • Industry experience in semiconductor or technology preferred

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree and related academic experience
  • Active United States bar license
