Job Title: Senior Event Operations Manager

Job Summary: Reporting to the Manager, Convention Operations, this role plans and delivers exciting experiences for a broad range of customers at global Pokémon events.

FLSA Classification (US Only): Exempt

What you’ll do

 

  • Manage vendors/service providers in support of the event delivery, including but not limited to: venues, hotels, contractors, AV & production, food & beverage, temporary staffing, health & safety agencies and transportation; responsible for communication flow and event production timeline.
  • Oversee the implementation of environmental design, from scenic to wayfinding, in conjunction with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Responsible for creation of complex event floorplans through coordination with internal stakeholders to ensure efficient use of space, proper traffic flow and compliance with safety and facility requirements; owns the overall space utilization plan.
  • Coordinate with registration and customer service teams to plan and deliver efficient onsite badge pick-up experience.
  • Ensure all A/V and technology needs are accounted for pre-show, set-up and functional onsite (e.g. – computers, tablets, internet, wireless routers, charging stations).
  • Implement sustainability plan for all events hosted by TPCi – initiatives to reduce or reuse, promote community engagement through local non-profit partnerships and reduce overall environmental impact of the event. Includes post-event reporting structure, partnering with internal sustainability team.
  • Implement all accessibility and DEI-related initiatives as it relates to the physical space and attendee accommodations.
  • Assist in developing annual zero-based budgets for events, prepare regular reporting, reconcile budget post-event and make recommendations on where to invest for the largest impact.
  • 25% global travel, including but not limited to: scouting trips for future event locations, site visits, stakeholder meetings, and event execution.

 

What you’ll bring

 

  • Experience managing the delivery of events with 20,000+ attendees, within a shared services or agency capacity (bonus for multiple events yearly).
  • Direct experience with esports production is beneficial, as is working with well-known brand IP (bonus if it is in the game industry).
  • Skilled negotiator, both during contracting phase and throughout the contract lifecycle.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, as a direct leader of teams and/or as a leader of projects - dynamic, strategic and resourceful.
  • Strong customer and attendee experience focus.
  • Ability to multitask and proactively manage assigned projects with minimal supervision.
  • Able to work under pressure and under challenging timelines.
  • Team player with ability to work with various groups across the organization; adept at stakeholder management.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Attention to details, and ability to multitask between different projects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proficiency in creating to-scale floor plans using AutoCAD or another similar product
  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience.
  • Bachelor's degree required.

 

Base Salary Range: For this role, new hires generally start between $125,000 - $148,000 per year. The full range is $125,000 - $187,000 per year. This range is applicable for the labor market where the role is intended to be hired. The final base salary is directly related to the candidate’s qualifications and professional experience uniquely.
