Growth Planning

Growth Planning is responsible for delivering an audience-first approach to planning across channels and content to maximize growth and capitalize on data revealed opportunities. We have a relentless focus on designing a cohesive ecosystem across audiences, channels, and content to deliver a frictionless fan experience.

The Senior Manager, Growth Planning (American Football) is a leadership position responsible for overseeing a pod of experts across paid media, lifecycle marketing, and connections planning. You will guide a channel-agnostic and audience-first approach to building the most effective and efficient plans for EA SPORTS Madden NFL and College Football. This role is a key strategic partner to cross-functional teams by providing strategic insights and analysis to inform planning decisions and maximize growth. This position reports into the Director of Growth Planning for EA SPORTS.

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead and inspire the American Football Pod of experts across Connections Planning, Paid Media, and Lifecycle Marketing (Email and In-Game).
  • Develop an inclusive culture focused on collaboration, clear and consistent feedback, and professional development.
  • Elevate planning outputs by connecting the dots between channels to ensure cohesive cross-platform journeys informed by fan behavior, channel insights, data, and performance.
  • Act as a strategic partner to leaders across Franchise Marketing, Creative, and Commercial teams by providing insights and analysis to inform planning decisions and maximize growth for EA SPORTS Madden and College Football.
  • Guide partners through setting measurable objectives while articulating the growth opportunity across audiences and channels.
  • Support the long-term brand strategy for American Football by providing a roadmap for driving growth across audiences, channels, and regions.
  • Partner with Franchise Marketing and Finance on the investment strategy required to achieve brand and commercial objectives.
  • Identify audiences presenting the biggest growth opportunities and provide compelling insights to serve as the foundation for plans, enabling marketing to be connected more effectively with players around the world.
  • Partner closely with Analytics to create measurement frameworks utilizing a blend of short-and long-term testing across the funnel to ensure plans are effective and efficient.
  • Serve and maintain partnerships with major media platforms, testing new capabilities and opportunities, staying up to date on evolving media landscape and best practices.
  • Provide clear communication to the wider EA business on key media, competitive, and cultural trends, relevant and actionable to their franchises.
  • Provide clear briefs, expectations, and feedback to the media agency of record. Contribute to oversight of the relationship as an active participant in quarterly business reviews.

 

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in media or marketing strategy leading cross-functional teams, preferably in sports, gaming, or entertainment industries.
  • Deep understanding of strategy, planning, and activation of data-informed channel programs across the funnel joining brand and performance activations.
  • Quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to drive change across your team and partner teams.
  • Ability to present and influence senior leaders across the organization, including marketing, commercial, and studio.
  • Highly competent in designing compelling visuals for slides, ecosystems, and connections plans.
  • Financial acumen - experience as an accountable leader with budget ownership and proven ability to deliver efficiencies wherever possible.
  • Interest and understanding of short- and long-term measurement, the strategic use of first-party data, the next generation of attribution.
